POSITION: Secondary English Teaching Assistant – working 1:1 & small groups
PERSON: Russell Group University Graduate – English – 1st Class or 2:1 Degree

PERSON:
The school is focused on providing a broad curriculum in which every pupil can access and achieve. In delivering such a school ethos, the role of an English Teaching Assistant needs to be someone who is passionate about English as a subject and ideally has a career focus on training to become an English Teacher in 2018. All applicants will need to have a strong academic background (GCSE & A Level), preferably with a degree in English from a reputable university. Alongside academic ability, the schools’ subject specific Teaching Assistants all have core attributes the leadership team look for; empathy, enthusiasm, work ethic and determination.
JOB:
This Graduate Teaching Assistant position will see the successful applicant and become a subject specific Teaching Assistant, working across the English department supporting pupils of all abilities across the three key stages (KS3, 4 & 5). Working with different abilities will require someone with versatility and a calm, professional approach, as you face challenges in behaviour and academically. You will be well supported by the head of department and class teachers. The English department itself is successful, with a tight knit staff team in place.

The school have improved their results year on year, both within the English department and school wide, recognised as one of the most improved schools within the borough of Richmond and graded as Outstanding. The school site is large, with modern facilities that all reflect the direction and recent achievements of the school.
