Job Title: Senior Marketing Manager, Career Services

Springer Nature is in the process of digital transformation from a traditional publisher to a digital first business. The commercial divisions, including the advertising business, are at the heart of this transition. We are specifically looking for someone who is digitally focussed to help us build a digital career services portfolio and grow commercial revenues. A key role in helping us to achieve our business goals the successful candidate will be someone who can create a strategic marketing vision, play an active role in digital product development and can act as an internal digital marketing expert.
Managing a friendly team, the successful candidate would come to us with extensive experience of marketing in a sales/commercial environment, ideally within the jobs board industry. As we are a global company, some international travel is part of the job and there are on-going opportunities for training and development.
Responsibilities:
Develops global marketing strategy for assigned portfolio, including but not limited to Naturejobs, Natureevents Directory and BDJ Jobs, designed to: Grow ecommerce revenues
Generate leads for sales teams
Nurture leads and existing clients
Encourage repeat business and promote cross-sell/up-sell opportunities
Usage of CRM systems marketing functionality to manage sales funnel
Act as key marketing stakeholder on career services digital product development, taking an active role in idea generation, product road mapping, testing and reassessing products
Utilizes data and analytics to demonstrate measurable ROI for our campaigns and those of our clients, and to make evidence-based decisions on resourcing and future activities
Develop a customer centric approach, identifying key market segments, creating customer profiles and building market intelligence to best target recruitment advertisers
Utilize thought leadership and content marketing approaches to generate leads
Work with Marketing Manager and related teams to develop SEO strategy to support sales and end user traffic goals
Identify and build partnerships with external organisations to mutually benefit from increased market exposure
Define data needs for media kits and sales collateral
Manage promotional budgets for assigned portfolio
Communicate marketing activities across departments, particularly sales, editorial, product management and other marketing teams
Represent the marketing department at key exhibitions around the world
Liaise with marketing staff in Japan, China, India and Australia (amongst other locations) for support with regional and local language promotions and ensure brand consistency
Management of 2 staff members, located in the UK
Key relationships:
Sales Director and sales teams; Society partners; Editorial, Product Management, Web Development, Central Marketing Services, Analytics, Regional marketing
Digital product manager and development team
Qualifications, Experience and Skills/knowledge:
University degree ideally in a marketing related subject
Significant marketing experience in a digital first environment, preferably linked to a sales/commercial focus
Managing budgets and proven cost control
Expertise in global digital marketing trends and techniques and a commitment to developing marketing best practice
Digital marketing expertise with job boards, ecommerce or recruitment advertising industry
Experience working with digital product managers and teams in an agile environment
A proven track record of professional achievements and development
Demonstrable creative thinker that implements/tests those ideas and delivers results with digital commercial products
Knowledge of digital recruitment advertising industry, job boards or listings businesses; understanding of sales processes and marketing techniques
Track record of helping commercial digital products succeed
Excellent digital marketing experience, acting as an internal expert and advocate
Analytically minded, whether looking at sales data or campaign reporting
Proficient experience with web analytics software such as Webtrends, Google Analytics
Proven acquisition marketing and conversion funnel expertise using a CRM such as Salesforce
Strong knowledge of current SEO best practices
Strong PPC advertising strategies
Targeted email and marketing automation skills and experience
Knowledge of agile digital product development process
Experience in social media marketing
Up to date with marketing technologies and advertising industry trends
Excellent time and organizational management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
