About this Role:
Superb opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join the South East Regional office of this busy national main contractor, to manage the construction of a £20m new build education project in the Thames Valley area. The project is a new build Academy secured on a national framework, with work due to commence in the first quarter next year; You would ideally join to be involved in and able to complete the second stage preconstruction phase to financial close, and construction delivery phase on site.
Reporting to the Project Director with responsibility for several schemes, you will be responsible for managing the project through the final preconstruction stages, working through buildability, programming of works, logistics planning, detailed design development with the client, and throughout the construction delivery phases which starts on site in the first quarter through to handover in 2019.
You will lead your team holding ultimate responsibility for client liaison, design development, construction methodology and programming of works, the smooth and timely progress of construction on site, and financial control of the project throughout, plus health & safety and quality control.
About the Company/Client/Project:
The client is the busy north Hampshire regional office of a national main contractor, with a turnover in excess of £90m, with secured workload in the education, commercial, industrial, defence, and leisure sectors in the Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey areas. The contractor has a successful proven track record in these sectors, and an excellent reputation for safety, quality, plus training, development, internal progression and overall retention of staff.
Projects range in size from £15m to £30m. Work is secured through several national and regional frameworks, negotiated work with repeat clients, plus competitive tenders.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
You will be an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record within a major contracting organisation, able to deliver design & build schemes up to £15m-20m in value. Previous experience of delivering a school building project on a framework arrangement would be an advantage.
Key attributes will include excellent client facing skills, design team and site team management ability, technical, contractual and commercial knowledge, plus leadership ability, focus and drive.
