Software Engineer required for a permanent opportunity based in Oxfordshire. Due to team expansion they require a Software Engineer to develop software applications that are used to calibrate, configure and test sophisticated equipment internally and across external clients. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience of defining, developing and maintaining software applications using Visual basic and C#.

Experience and Skills

* Extensive Windows application development using VB.net in Visual Studio 2015.
* Experience of developing PC applications that communicate with external hardware in real time.
* Ability to demonstrate a track record of delivering successful products on time.
* Self-starting, energetic and hard working.
* Customer focused and ensuring delivered products exceed customer expectations.
* Strong problem solving and communication skills and the ability to relate to others in a multi-disciplinary team.
* Reasonable knowledge of object oriented design techniques and the ability to work to and develop best practice coding standards.
* Sound engineering judgment.
* Good understanding of what firmware is.

Desirable

* VB6/SQL database experience an advantage.
* Use of C
