Position: Fire Safety Manager
Location: Based in Borehamwood but Nationwide coverage required
Salary temporary: Upto £29.07 per hour PAYE
Salary Permanent : Upto £54,430 per annum
Length of Contract: 3 months temporary to permanent
Greenacre Recruitment have been asked to assist a housing association to recruit a Fire Safety Manager.
Key responsibilities
Promoting the delivery of the business objectives in relation to Fire Safety
To acknowledge and support the establishment of company enforcement strategy, live response and support services for fire related matters.
Responsible for assisting and developing and maintaining systems and processes for the effective liaison and working specialised housing
Acting as a field based liaison with relevant Fire Brigade/Fire Authorities with direction or guidance as appropriate from the Fire Assurance Manager or Head of Safety.
Managing and updating systems for recording inspections and follow up on actions arising to ensure completion with an audit trail.
Assist in promoting a culture which reflects the fluid needs arising from Fire legislation.
Supporting the Fire Assurance Manager in provision of fire based training and information to educate and empower.
Assist in identifying at risk groups in fire safety and ensuring appropriate ongoing monitoring of those ensuring that appropriate information, advice and support is provided directly or through business divisions if relative to residents.
Assist the Fire Assurance Manager with the planned program of Fire reviews, audits and inspections including development of bespoke departmental inspection programs.
Act as support to the Fire Assurance Manager for compliance standards by specific technical standards from The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, BS 9991: 2015 and all other associated guidance.
To provide technical support in Working Groups and Task Teams on all matters fire ensuring appropriateness of decisions for compliance against standards.
Provide technical support and advice for ITT/PQQs for Tenders for essential business services.
Ensure that the organisation has appropriate policy and undertake Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans of staff who may require assistance to evacuate and keep under review
Act as key support in investigations into causes of fires across the Business Portfolio as may be required and ensure that a database and record of fire statistics and actions is maintained.
Working with the Operations Manager (Fire) on all matters relative to fire safety.
Pre-qualification criteria
The role requires Nationwide Coverage so a car and driving licence is essential
CFPA Europe Diploma in Fire Prevention
NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management
Ability to advise and work with senior management and directors with ability to influence and implement change
Worked in a multi-faceted business covering many fire risk streams.
