Company Description, Profile and Scope of Role:
Our client is a world leader in design, build and distribution of Bespoke Industrial Electrical and Electronic Systems, They are seeking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to manage engineering development and supply projects across the Company and manage new product introductions into the production process. This includes the management of project objectives, schedules and budgets to ensure that all requirements are achieved.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and apply the necessary interpersonal skills to galvanise, co-ordinate and motivate project teams such that project objectives are achieved.
Support the bid department in developing a work breakdown structure of new commercial offers and to ensure that projected costs cover the scope of supply and that risks have been identified and mitigated.
Plan and monitor project performance and report regularly internally on this (and externally as required by the customer), including any key issues and forecast revisions. Generate and maintain in a regular and timely manner accurate, resourced and costed plans using Microsoft Project.
Ensure that projects are conducted in accordance with the customer contract, all relevant regulatory requirements and processes and procedures, including the Quality Management System.
Prepare and present professional reports, formal communications and project documentation as necessary. Ensure that all project documentation is filed and stored in a logical and secure manner.
Communicate with functional heads of department to achieve optimum utilisation of resources.
Resolve general issues arising by application of practical logic, consideration of alternatives, effective communications with affected parties and implementation of suitable and agreed plans of action.
Liaise with internal departments and suppliers as required to expedite provision of materials, resources and services. Support internal departments in assessment of suppliers and assist in production planning using the Companys ERP business system.
Identify and facilitate process improvements on a continuous basis.
Assist Engineering in designing for manufacture, maintenance and cost and manage the introduction of new products through the NPI (new product introduction) process.
Actively follow the Companys Health and Safety Policy, Procedures and safe systems of work, and be responsible for your own health and welfare, working with colleagues to ensure that the working environment is safe. This includes following instructions and actively participating in training and development to ensure compliance and best practice in this area.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills and attributes:
Essential:
Engineering Degree Level
Project Management in an Engineering Environment
Time, Resource and Budget Management to agreed timelines.
Confident and able to be strong customer facing and be able to service demands while protecting interests of the business.
High level of competence with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
Desirable:
Rail, Energy and/or Industrial Power Products. Low volume manufacture.
Experience of direct budget control and potentially P&L responsibility
Price / Salary: £43000/annum
