R&D Microbiology Technician

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a Global Medical Device company as a Microbiologist within R&D, delivering the highest quality products in an innovative and renowned industry.
The responsibilities of the R&D Microbiology Technician role:
* To support R&D projects throughout the lifecycle of the project, by performing a range of current microbiology tests i.e. log reduction, cZOI, antibiofilm evaluation.
* To assist in the development, optimisation and validation of new and novel test methods for the evaluation and verification of R&D projects.
* To accurately record data and file information e.g. raw data in accordance with the companies Good Laboratory Practices and R&D procedures.
* Ensure compliance with all current microbiology practices and maintain all test methods to relevant standards.
* Authorship/approval of scientific and technical memos/reports/papers, making appropriate conclusions, recommendations and presentations as required.
* Support regulatory submissions (documentation, testing, etc).
* Actively contribute to departmental meetings and forums and contribute to the systematic improvement of the department in a positive, pragmatic, and enthusiastic manner.
* Adopt high standards of GLP and Health & Safety in laboratories.
The successful candidate for the Microbiology Technician role will have:
* A BSc or equivalent in a biological sciences discipline or relevant subject
* Previous Microbiology Laboratory experience
* Knowledge of all current antimicrobial test methods
* Previous relevant experience in medical devices
* Good microbiological techniques
* Good knowledge of H&S, quality and regulatory compliance requirements
