The Company:
A really lovely, friendly working environment working for a British Manufacturer in a Somerset village. Working on the computerised stock control system, you must therefore be computer literate and have previous stores, despatch and supervisory experience.
The Stores Supervisor reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for all the Goods in and Goods out staff.
Job Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily despatches
* Control both component and finished part stock
* Raise Despatch Notes
* Forward schedule
* Carry out cyclic stock checks
* Deal with carrier discrepancies and disputes
* Book carriers
* Review and log late deliveries
* Carry out end of month checks for accounts
* Motivate, develop, lead and manage the Despatch/Stores team
* Manage and be accountable for the Despatch/ Stores areas in bays 2, 3 and 4
* Meet customer demands and quality targets
* Liaise with Sales and Manufacturing to ensure delivery of completed works orders ready for despatch in the correct quantities and at the correct time
* Carry out regular cycle counts within all areas
* Constantly manage best use of resources
* Conduct and participate in regular team meetings
* Ensure the on time delivery of finished parts to Despatch
* Ensure Quality and Process Conformance
* Actively carry out investigation with regards to Incident reports and report back to both Quality and Production Manager
* Ensure Health and Safety compliance
* Set and maintain consistent 5S (Sort,Set,Shine,Standardise,Stick) and housekeeping standards in the Despatch/Stores area
* Initiate and manage Continuous Improvement activities in association with the Production Manager
* Carry out performance and quality reviews with the manufacturing team
* Maintain training matrixes for Despatch/Stores staff
* Carry out return-to-work interviews
* Actively participate in team or project based activities where required
* Communicate effectively with other departments as the work requires
* Work within budgetary constraints
* Provide regular feedback to the Production Manager
* Deputise for the Production Manager as required
Preferred Skills:
* Knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace
* Computer literate in major programs such as MS Word, Excel
* Good standard of literacy and numeracy
* Excellent knowledge of Unwin products
* Experience with ERP systems
* Organised, able to plan own time and others against required activity, managing conflicting priorities
Desirable:
* Forklift licence
