Role
A fantastic career opportunity for an experienced and qualified Health and Safety Officer to join a dynamic fast-growing Print company. This is a great chance for a hands-on and knowledgeable officer to utilise their skills and expertise, implement policies and systems and to promote a positive health and safety culture in the workplace.
Responsibilities
Update and amend the Staff health and safety handbook as necessary to ensure it falls in line with current HSE guidance Ensure all the updates and amends are made aware to all current and new employees
Develop and implement internal policy
Provide staff training and clear instruction on Health and Safety practices
Ensure the health and safety training of new recruits is completed as part of the induction process
Record all training records providing refresher/updated training where necessary
Carry out risk assessments Company wide and consider how risks could be reduced
Carry out regular site inspections to check that policies and procedures are being adhered to
Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation
Ensure that all relevant documentation and records are completed correctly and filed accordingly
Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all HSE legislation and developments which may affect the Company
Advise on a range of specialist areas, including but not limited to fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise levels, safeguarding machinery, PPE
Take record of any incidents and accidents and carry out any necessary investigation work and reporting
First aid duties arrange first aid training so that we are compliant across the board at each site and on each shift
Management of emergency procedures (such as fire alarm drills) and organising fire marshals to assist with fire procedures
Responsibility for the maintenance of fire extinguishers, fire alarms etc. Fire Marshalls
Take full responsibility for the Companys ISO accreditation and carry out quarterly audits according to certification requirements ISO 9001/14001 - TUV ISO 27001:2013
Overseeing CCTV security, monitoring, policy and procedure Making a record of incidents for HR.
Experience Required
Hold the NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum
Have or be working towards IOSH membership
At Least 5 years practical experience working as a health and safety officer in a busy warehouse environment, previous experience in the print industry would be an advantage.
Previous experience and a strong knowledge of the ISO accreditation
