First 2 Recruit Ltd is working on behalf of our client in Salisbury who require a Team Leader for their manufacturing site. This is a full time, permanent position with a competitive salary and immediate start available. Due to the nature of the Team Leader position you will be required to work shifts.
Duties of the role of Team Leader;
Drive the performance of the Plant to ensure that maximum output is achieved whilst not compromising product quality or specification.
Ensure that product and raw material quality is of the highest standard and conforms to customer and internal specification, reacting to product out of specification alerting Section Leader or Assistant Manager of potential issues.
To deputize for the Section Leader as and when required, carrying out the day-to-day requirements of the role including attend meetings, carrying out team briefs and other activities as required.
To plan and execute working plans and production schedules to meet the production requirements.
Develop, monitor and react to Section KPIs, using the business systems and tools to drive improvements, communicating results and actions to the teams in a timely manner.
Ensure stock is controlled and managed efficiently, striving to minimize stock holding and waste.
To monitor and assist in management of the staff rota, working patterns, labour hours and associated costs as well as holidays, sickness and return to work procedures. Included in this should be monitoring staff timekeeping and carrying out relevant actions.
To assist in training and developing the teams as required to ensure fully staffed multi-skilled team members to cover the 7 day operation including temporary workers.
Ensure clear communication with Management, Section Leaders and other members of staff especially with regard to the internal customer (ovens). Ensure that daily cell reviews are carried out within the shift.
To highlight any issues with fabric, machinery or equipment in terms of maintenance, hygiene or Health & Safety in a timely and clear manner, following up to ensure that corrective action has taken place.
Help to promote and develop a culture of dignity and respect for all employees.
To keep section hygiene and GMP standards at the highest level throughout the day, adopting a Clean as you go policy and ensuring end of shift cleandowns are carried out correctly.
To ensure that costs within the remit of the role are controlled and actions taken as necessary to help reduce where possible.
To assist in other areas of the bakery when downtime occurs or when capacity requires it
To help reduce and eliminate all forms of waste throughout the factory
To carry out any task deemed reasonable by the company.
