Our international client is searching for a Legal Counsel to join their team on a 12month Fixed Term Contract basis. The primary purpose of the position is to support the solutions division by providing legal advice and support to all areas of the B2B sector. The role is based in the Leeds city centre office.

The position reports directly into the Head of Legal and will involve frequently liaising with senior members of all key departments throughout the business.

The main accountabilities of the position include;

* Review, draft and negotiate various contracts, including new customer contracts to support business products and arrangements as well as long-term and other purchase contracts;
* Conduct contract negotiations with existing and new customers and their advisers;
* Provide legal advice and support to business colleagues in the negotiation and completion of commercial and related terms of contracts and long term import and export agreements;
* Review, draft and periodically update standard terms & conditions;
* Ensure, in conjunction with the other members of the Legal Department, the provision of a full legal service and legal compliance for the business;
* Provide general legal advice on day to day operational matters.

The successful candidate will have detailed knowledge of UK contractual arrangements, strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all organisational levels and to influence and persuade others in a constructive manner and demonstrable awareness of the commercial aspects of the business.

Our client envisages that candidates with at 2 - 5 years of experience will have the relevant skills / knowledge for this position, however this has been given as an approximate guide for applicants and our client is happy to consider the applications of candidates who fall outside of this range but who have the relevant experience.
