Project Manager _ Rail _ M&E

Location: Glasgow

Salary: £60k basic + Car + Bonus

Our Client is a privately owned Rail Sub Contractor who is on the verge of achieving their Principal Contractors Licences to deliver in their specialist areas E&P, M&E Minor Civils works are now looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead and develop business and relations in Scotland.

The Role:

Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for the management and successful delivery of Rail & Civil Engineering projects in the region with a key focus of business development, commercial delivery and business growth in the region.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

* Key senior interface with Network Rail, Clients and projects stakeholder with an eye for business development.
* Identify new opportunities to tender and create plan for tender in line with company's commercial strategies.
* Develop and lead winning work process and appoint suitable bid management resources.
* Develop strategic supply chain relationships necessary to grow the business unit and protect net margins.
* Recruit an effective delivery team to meet projects needs and business culture.
* Build successful teams to deliver to your requirements in the region.
* Manage the performance of all staff assigned to you in accordance with legislation and company procedures.
* Liaise with the commercial management teams when necessary
* Ensure that all projects are delivered on time to budget while driving project delivery matrices
* Ensure all works carried out comply with current H&S and environmental legislation
* Provide technical leadership through the work programme

Required Experience

* MUST have Rail experience
* MUST have main contractor experience and delivered Rail projects £5million+
* Strong client interfacing and management experience
* Well-developed negotiating skills based upon good technical and commercial understanding of contracts forms used in the Rail sector
* Well-developed presentation and communication skills
* Intellectually strong in terms of understanding technical concepts
* Clear and visible leadership, with capacity to absorb responsibility and accountability whilst leading a business unit.

Qualification

* Degree or equivalent in a construction/ civils discipline
