Trainee Mechanical Estimator
Our client is one of Nottinghamshires main Electrical and Mechanical engineering companies. The Company supply a wide range of products and services to the Industrial and Commercial sectors.
Due to extensive growth they have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Electrical Estimator to join the team.
Role:
The trainee Mechanical Estimator will be assisting with the project surveyors and estimating department in controlling the commercial aspects of contracts from tender stage to final account, while providing detailed financial reporting in accordance with the company procedure and contract requirements.
Responsibilities:
· Assisting the estimating team with contract reviews, proposed specifications and drawings, site surveys, calculating material and labour costs, support negotiations as part of the tender process, monitor the tender based on actual costs, and consult with client, main contractor and subcontractors for estimating and resolving issues.
· Assist in providing detailed financial information on the financial aspects of contracts while working collaboratively with project managers, supervisors, engineers etc.
· Assist in producing and issuing sub-contract orders
· Assist with monthly analysis of contract performance in terms of progress and value/cost
· Attend monthly contract reviews
· Assist in the preparation of final accounts
· Work collaboratively with project surveyors to quickly integrate within the business.
· Additional duties as required
Skills and requirements:
· NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent
· Previous on-site experience is desirable
· Knowledge of electrical installations
· Ambitious and hard-working attitude with a desire for career progression
· Excellent negotiation skills
· The candidate should be positive and customer service focused, having a natural ability to communicate in a professional manner.
· Candidates must be dependable & reliable, have a willingness to learn, with good analytical & problem-solving skills.
· Must have the ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
