An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Male Interventions Programme Worker to join our team on a full time bases and will be based at LOCATION. In return, we offer a competitive salary of £24646 per annum plus 3% pension.
The Interventions Programme Worker will undertake individual and group work with people that use intimate partner abuse in their relationships in addition to conducting suitability assessments and liaising closely with professionals to manage risk.
The main responsibilities of the Interventions Programme Worker include:
* Deliver group and individual programmes to people who use violent and abusive behaviours in an intimate relationship
* Conduct suitability and risk assessments with clients
* Attend and contribute to multi-agency forums such as MARAC, Child Protection conferences
* Write progress reports for Children's Services, Family Courts and other agencies
* Work as part of a small team to share information and manage risk
* Maintain appropriate computerized client based records
* Work closely with a range of agencies in a professional manner
The successful Interventions Programme Worker will have:
* An honours degree or equivalent qualification or significant relevant experience
* Experience of working with men either individually or in groups within a relevant sector such as Substance Misuse, Domestic Violence, Social Work, Probation, Counselling, Prisons etc.
* Experience of working effectively with social workers and other professionals
* An understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and its effects on victims and children
* Ability to communicate clearly with a range of people over the telephone, email and other mediums
* A motivated and enthusiastic ethic and the ability to compassionately challenge clients about their abusive behaviour
* Ability to use computerised case managements systems and office applications competently

The hours of work are 37 per week, this will include a minimum of 2 evenings per week.
This role will be funded until March 2019 with a possibility of a 2-year extension.
