The primary purpose of this role is to ensure all plant and equipment used in production is maintained at all times and to ensure that it is fit for purpose and in a good state of repair.
Health & Safety
· Assist in H&S investigations identified through near miss reporting, as and when required
· Support best practice Health and Safety to ensure zero lost injuries
· To ensure adherence to Health and Safety policy and practices at all times
Key Responsibilities
· To assist in defining the weekly engineering and maintenance activities based on current and future business needs, and to carry out those activities on time and to the required standards.
· You will also have some experience of plc control systems, and show a desire to develop the skills required to maintain and improve the control systems in use across our business
· To ensure the timely and accurate recording of all maintenance activities, breakdowns and repairs by fully utilising the business CMMS.
· Recommend upgrades or improvements to existing and new machinery, and operate a continuous improvement mentality.
· Assist in establishing the most effective supply process for spare parts (e.g. cost, lead-time, production demand,) and manage the engineering stores as part of the engineering team
· Providing first response to engineering breakdowns, be able to work on your own initiative and have the ability to solve technical problems with the minimum of input, and have the experience to make decisions in a high-pressure environment
· To communicate with and influence contractors and suppliers to ensure that business maintenance requirements are understood and delivered
· To work collaboratively with production operatives to identify and implement maintenance activities in the production area
· To maintain effective, co-operative working relationships with all internal and external customers to achieve set deadline requirements
