NHBC has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Officer to join the team based in Milton Keynes. You will be on a full time permanent contract, with a highly competitive salary of £32,500 to £36,000 (dependent on experience).

Working in the House-Building Standards department, you will provide technical support to colleagues within NHBC and to the house-building industry, as well as assisting with the development of NHBCs Standards and technical policy.

Where you fit in

As our Technical Officer you will be researching technical issues related to house building technologies, methods and materials, you will provide accurate responses to technical enquiries from a range of customers, including NHBC colleagues, house builders, construction professionals and product manufacturers.

Our ideal Technical Officer

You will have a good understanding of house-building methods and related technical issues. A relevant qualification coupled with knowledge of construction will form part of your portfolio.

Construction experience, preferably in house building, perhaps from working on site or in a design, surveying or engineering role, and the ability to communicate clearly at all levels, both orally and in writing, coupled with excellent organisational skills is a must.

Self-motivated with the passion to learn more every day would be a good way to describe you. Membership of a relevant institution (CIOB/CABE) or working towards it would be desirable (support will be offered to the successful candidate).
