A well respected integrated logistics business that operates across road, sea and air on a global basis has an opportunity for an experienced Transport Operations Clerk to join their growing team in the Northamptonshire area. This is a full time, permanent role, with opportunity for career development working Mon to Fri (5am - 2pm).

The position would suit an individual who enjoys the transport industry, has experience within the sector and gets a buzz from a variety of duties and who carries out their tasks with a sense of urgency and professionalism. In essence the role would be to assist with adjusting the transport plan as and when is needed (to compensate for goods that haven't arrived etc) then to organisation any additional collections and manage any problems that arise with deliveries and collections or drivers failing to turn in. A good understanding of a traffic department is therefore essential.

The role would suit an individual who possesses excellent communication skills, is used to liaising with drivers and warehouse personnel (to ensure all goods are loaded to the specific vehicles), is comfortable speaking to and communicating with customers and clients over the telephone and via e-mail as well having a good understanding of vehicle and tacho compliance and health and safety.

You will need to demonstrate bags of common sense, retain a professional, diplomatic approach (with a sense of humour), be able to pick things up quickly, think on your feet and be strong minded with a strength of character whilst retaining a positive attitude at all times. Computer literacy will be an advantage as will a proactive, pragmatic and organised approach to your duties.
