Transport for West Midlands, the transport arm of the WMCA is a rapidly growing authority and fast emerging as a standard setter in the industry in October becoming only the second ever to win the City-Region Transport Authority of the Year Award twice in a row. We are re-shaping our Policy, Strategy and Innovation Department to respond to new challenges and the largest Combined Authority Mayoral portfolio outside London. We want new talent to join our already excellent team.
The department has recently established the WMCAs first strategic transport plan; a 2026 Transport Delivery Plan; an ambitious delivery programme of globally unique Connected and Autonomous Vehicle testbed facilities; and a UK first of kind Mobility as a Service pilot service; alongside delivering a new service model for policy, strategy, intelligence, analytics and insight across a population of over 1.8million people, 3 cities and 7 local authorities.
We need progressive thinking dynamic individuals to join us as we use evidence to shape our £7.3bn transport programme and as we unlock tomorrows technologies and insights in collaboration with many of the UKs leading industrial and academic partners. We are looking for:
A candidate with a head for data and a passion for communicating information you will need a keen interest in the evidence and insight that drives our decisions on the ground and our investment programmes. This roles will be central to the delivery of new services using the latest technology and techniques. With scope for development and growth, you will shape news ways of working and set new standards.
