Given our ambitious and exciting growth plans for the future we are looking for a Senior Master Production Scheduler
The role
Given our recent opening of a brand new facility at Ansty Park and our ambitious and exciting growth plans for the future we are looking for an experienced Master Production Scheduler to join our Logistics Team in supporting the manufacturing operations across the site.
Role responsibilities
Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of industrial or commercial products: Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
Analyses production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.
Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
Prepares production reports.
May prepare lists of required materials, tools, and equipment.
May prepare purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment.
Maintains an achievable production plan across the manufacturing departments. and understand the overall Demand Planning process.
Recognise how and why top level demand is planned and be able to interpret the subsequent generated supply and demand requirements, and be able to analyse and challenge the data accordingly.
Basic knowledge of Bill of Material structures advantageous
Understanding of MRP processes and the parameters that determine the supply and demand recommendations and exceptions generated.
The person
Proven experience as a master production scheduler
Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
Previous experience of materials planning ideally in the automotive or manufacturing environment
Good understanding of supply chain processes and their interdependencies
Understanding of supplier relationships and some experience of working with suppliers
Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills
Knowledge and experience of using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems or similar
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication abilities
Education and Training
The ideal candidate will have/be:
A business/engineering degree preferred. A Levels, HNC, BTec National Diploma Level 3, IVQ Technician Diploma or equivalent NVQ level 3 qualification.
