John Crane in Manchester is seeking to recruit a Business Development Manager to join the company on a permanent basis.
The appointee will be responsible for supporting the global business units with sales growth plans, sales strategy and sales training.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Support the John Crane Global business units with sales growth plans, sales strategy and sales training.
* Development and sales of Performance Based and other high level Value Propositions and the Account Management of nominated Global Key Accounts with HQ in Europe;
* Develop Sales Prospects - sales visits to targeted customers supporting the John Crane Regional Sales Manager. Introduce the concept and benefits of Performance Based Value Propositions and manage the Feasibility Study and modelling process through to the successful award or renewal of a long term contract;
* Support Regional Business strategy models - collaborate and support the development of each Regional Marketing strategy to identify growth or defence targets for site visits and development actions. This will require working at a high level with the John Crane Regional Managers.
* Key Account Management - manage the basic contractual requirements, cross-selling of Products and upselling of high level propositions for nominated Key Accounts. Use KPIs to measure the effectiveness of Key Account Management in terms of First Fit and End User sales growth.
* Cross Selling - in the context of high level Value Propositions this could either be product or service opportunties presented by exisitng site programs or enhanced forms of hybrid programs with integrated services.
* Training - support John Crane Sales Regions with training on Solution Selling stratgey, techniques, materials and processes.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Ideally Degree level education (mechanical engineering - nice to have);
* Experience in Sales / Business Development within the Process Manufacturing sector, using a structured approach to selling, involving the identification of business needs, development of proposals and the negotiation of large contracts;
* Experience / ability to deal with senior internal and external stakeholders;
* Understanding of business models and financial aspects;
* Experience of data analysis, reliability concepts, maintenance strategies, continuous improvement and change management.
