Part Time Assistant Accountant - Up to £20,000

The Role

Our client is a well established independent firms of Chartered Accountants. The business are looking to appoint Part Time Assistant Accountant on a 3 day/week basis within their Nottingham office.

The firm operate with a friendly yet professional culture, driving team work ethics throughout the business. The organisation specialises in working with small to medium sized owner managed businesses , typically from £100,000 to £2 million turnover, providing full accounting and business advisory service to these clients, acting on many occasion as their clients in house accounting division.

The role of Assistant Accountant will offer an excellent opportunity to work across a diverse client portfolio, providing accounting support within a variety of areas

Duties and Responsibilities

The role will help support a team of accountants and will assist in the following:

Preparation of statutory year end accounts
Prepare basic corporation tax computations
Preparation of personal tax computations
Client bookkeeping
Preparation of VAT returns
Communicate effectively with clients on specific issue

Skills and Qualities

To be considered for this position the successful candidate will ideally be AAT qualified with at least 3 years of experience working within a firm of accountants, applications are also encouraged for individuals who have qualified by experience and have decided not to pursue the formal qualification route.

You will have developed experience of preparing statutory accounts and tax computation with little supervision and have a good understanding of Sage Line 50.

The firms office is based approximately 5 miles North of Nottingham City Centre and is within easy commute of Mansfield and Hucknall, the office also has its own parking.
