Estimator/ Costing Engineer

A well-established family owned company running for over 40 years working in the precision manufacturing industry are looking for an Estimator to maximise new business development whilst maintaining good relations with existing customers to join their expanding business and strive to promote business growth and exceed profit expectations.

Roles & Responsibilities
* Prepare Quotations in accordance with current profit margins
* To ensure effective communication with all customers both internal and external
* To maintain BETI (material process) in line with current markets
* To ensure that material requirements are passed to purchasing for the first order of any new jobs coming into the company. This should ensure these are purchased at the correct price
* To provide price breakdowns for internal evaluation or at the request of a customer in line with HVW policy on requests for this type of information
* To provide cover for other areas of the Sales Department
* To agree objectives and targets with the Sales Director to ensure they are achieved and reported
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* A good working knowledge of 'MS Office'
* Must have excellent negotiation skills
* Must be able to read engineering drawings
* Must be able to use specialist measuring equipment
* Technical knowledge
* A technical qualification or mechanical apprenticeship
* Experience of working within a manufacturing environment
* An effective communicator
* Analytical and methodical
* Attention to detail
* Excellent organisational skills
* Problem solving ability
* A flexible approach
* Effective time management
* Must be numerate
