Role: Assistant Procurement Manager
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £20,000-£25,000

We are looking for a bright and outgoing Assistant Procurement Manager to aid the growth of this striving business. Helping expand their existing market leading business within the fresh produce industry whilst being a valued asset to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone to continue their career development within the fresh produce industry and demonstrate their abilities within procurement.

Main Responsibilities
Reporting in to the Procurement Manager, the role will be to assist the buying process, sourcing products from all over the UK and Europe, negotiating prices and volumes, calling the product in when it is required and generally helping the buying team in the delivery of their goals. You will be required to liaise with multiple members within the commercial team ensure all queries are appropriately dealt with. Furthermore, the role will involve managing the stock whilst maintain the procurement matrix to adequate levels.

Main Tasks:
-Ensuring that confirmations are uploaded with details.
-Sending Quality controller reports to growers and following through any outstanding issues.
-Monitor daily arrivals vs ordered quantities.
-Assist with ordering samples.
-Updating KPI's on supplier accuracy, price variance reporting, additional works and waste costs.
-Managing the relationship with the suppliers on a day to day basis.
-Update procurement reports.
-Send weekly forecasts to growers.
-Reviewing and checking invoices.
-Analyse transport and regularly review.

Experience and Person Specification:
-Experience within a purchasing/buying/commercial/supply chain admin
-Knowledge and experience working in food manufacturing or fresh produce
-This role will be suitable for a driven person who has can work closely with a team.
-Highly numerical
-Excel proficient
