R&D PRINCIPAL ENGINEER (ELECTRONICS) OXFORD - £50,000-60,000
This is an incredible opportunity to join a cutting edge client who designs and manufactures magnetic field sensors for a number of private and government organisations globally.
80% of the products designed and manufactured by this company are exported worldwide to customers working in a variety of sectors such as Geophysics, physics and archaeology and the oil and mineral exploration companies.
The successful candidate will become a key part of the R&D project team throughout the entire product design process, from initial experimentation through to production release!
This R&D Principal Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
Generating innovative product potential solutions to Electronics Hardware, Software and Embedded firmware functions
Advise departmental manager on Electronics and Software planning
Acquire customer requirements and generate details product specifications
Assist the R&D manager with projects and acting as a senior employee to 12 staff
The successful candidate must have:
Experience with linear and switch mode power supply design for low power circuits
A practical understanding of Analogue and mixed signal electronics e.g op-amps, ADC and DAC (Preferably audio or instrumentation)
BSc or BEng in Electronic Engineering
Experience of hardware design of microcontroller based designs
Experience designing for EMC & EMC test methods
Data communications experience with RS422/485 & USB
Experience supervising Electronics & Software design functions.
It would be highly advantageous to have:
Experienced project management in a multidisciplinary team
Technical lead background with customer facing experience
Understanding of Software design processes (PC and Embedded)
