Our client is looking to recruit for a Minimix Shipper in the Syston area.

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to join a central minimix distribution team providing a professional distribution service to customers, accurately and efficiently taking orders and negotiating them into a logistically sound planning schedule that accounts for the customer needs, ensuring optimisation of the available plant network and cost effective utilisation of the vehicle fleet. The successful individual will be expected to achieve multi-skilled status in other roles to meet the needs of the business. Maintain a good rapport and effective working relationships with other team members, plant staff, hauliers and customers. Assist the sector in providing the high standard of service to our customers, enhancing their experience and creating more value in comparison compared with our competitors.

Accountabilities:

Build & Maintain solid working relationships with customers, team members, Hauliers and sector teams.

Orders Accurately take order information and input onto the Fortek system.

Customer Service Respond positively & confidently to our customers requirements

Planning Schedule and ensure timely delivery of orders agreed with our customers, optimising effective truck utilisation whilst making sound cost effective logistical decisions, utilisation of Navman and the mapping package.

Haulage Making decisions on optimum fleet utilisation and depot transfers.

Driver Management Assist the ASTM with the day to day management of drivers

Monitoring - Maintain real time progress of scheduled orders allowing you to identify potential problem areas and pro-actively resolve them

Communication

Proactively communicate delivery progression with customers (immediate notification of late running loads)

Liaise with plants to ensure material requirements for all planned deliveries.

Daily liaison with ASTM, ISR, and relevant Sector Offices.

Plant/Driver Visits Regular visits to plants/hauliers within shipped area to understand production/technical processes.

Multi Skilling Strive to achieve a basic understanding and knowledge of other roles within the sector and wider business.

Qualifications:

Good level of general education

Experience:

Experience of working in a distribution environment

Skills / knowledge

IT - Working knowledge of Fortek (Nimrod) SAP, Gmail, Google Drive and Phone System.

Commercial - Awareness of sales team role and link with distribution.

Haulage - Out of hours agreement, truck sizes, availability and payment terms.

Customer - Key Customers/accounts.

Processes - Recognise and conform with National Standard processes and best practice
procedures.

Product Technical - Working knowledge of mix descriptions, standard procedures manual.

Production - Plant capacities and capabilities.

Telephone techniques - Proficient use of system and demonstrate consistent, professional
style and approach.

Decision-making/Problem solving - Knowledge of boundaries, confident and accountable and decisive. Able to prioritise conflicting Customer/Plant/Trucking issues.

Self-management - Planning, prioritising, organising self/day.
