We undertake work associated with feasibility and design of all elements of railway schemes in the UK and worldwide in collaboration with teams in other Mott MacDonald offices.
The team also provides a design review resource for the promoters of schemes once the design and build contractors start developing their proposed designs.
This opportunity is a principal role in the timely and safe delivery of all works whether office based or on or near the line. This specialist has a sound knowledge of planning and delivering work in a railway environment and site safety arrangements.
Job description
Support the Project director in the delivery of project portfolio
Successful delivery of projects to time, quality and budget
Establish effective communications across the internal, client and other stakeholder teams
Controlling the internal and external commercial aspects of project portfolio
Securing opportunity and repeat business through the high quality of your/your teams service delivery
Mentoring less experienced colleagues in the skills of project management
The role will require some travel, occasional overnight stays and potential secondments.
Essential academic, professional qualifications and experience:
You will have most of the following:
Preferably formal qualifications in Project Management.
A proven record of successful project delivery in the rail sector
Good communication and negotiation skills
Proven working knowledge of multi function railway system (particularly Signalling & Comms) design production requirements
Proven working knowledge of the Network Rail GRIP process
Good knowledge of planning and other project controls
Demonstrated ability to build, and maintain, good working relationships with clients and project teams
Demonstrated professional network within the Rail sector
Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
Logical thinking with creative problem solving ability
Great attention to detail
Good IT skills
APM/Prince 2 qualified
