A leading manufacturer is looking to recruit a Cost Accountant to work within their supply chain team.

In this role you will develop best practices within the cost accounting framework and proactively suggest improvements to improve efficiencies, cost effectiveness and add value. You will also provide accurate product costings for reliable margin analysis.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain financial models to support new business tenders at incremental, marginal and total cost for all three divisions of the business.
- Own and lead the annual standing costing update, to ensure all areas of the business and ERP systems reconcile to the overall Budget costs.
- Own and maintain the day to day New SKU request cost process to ensure all areas of the business have been covered and accurate BOM. BOOs have been raised within the ERP system to allow for accurate costs to calculated.
- Own works order, job management and Kanban variances to ensure all variances are investigated and resolved.
- Provide weekly reconciliation of Open and Closed jobs and investigate variances pre-job closure.
- Become Business Partner with operations to ensure all Bill of Materials and Bill of Operations are tracking to standard or better and report on any exceptions.
- Prepare detailed margin analysis by Product Group and Product Range.
- Provide & lead operational variance and reconciliations in the form of KPIs for PPV, MUV, LEV, scrap and steel usage with management team.
- Lead the development for continuous improvements and enhancements within the ERP costing systems.
- Work with Supply Chain and Operations on cost down projects, and provide monthly analysis of costs savings to budget.

Person Specification:

- Excellent computer proficiency (especially Excel) and practical experience of using ERP.
- Previous experience in a similar role desirable.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining a professional attitude.
- Ability to work independently and see assignments through to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Ambitious with appetite to learn and develop.
- Exhibits desire for continuous improvements.
