My client is recruiting a site based Building Services Manager in Manchester to work under the directive of the Services Engineering Director. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of pre- construction, construction & commissioning stages. You will be overseeing new builds for a number of Schools in the North West and therefore must be available to travel to each site as required. It is important that you have a strong background in Mechanical or Electrical Building Services and have a good appreciation of your weaker discipline also.

You will be dealing with everyone involved in the build, this will include but is not limited to; the project manager, design consultants, sub contractors and make sure that the build is going to plan and on time. You will review all issued co-ordinated drawings and all plant and equipment which is included in the build.

Additionally you will look after the site inductions, review and provide approval of services installation Method Statements; Health & Safety documents; Risk assessments and have a keen eye on procurement, its timescales and delivery of these products.

You will ensure that the whole of the services works have been installed to the construction issue coordinated installation drawings and the specification and maintain an accurate day-to-day site diary of construction activities etc. You will liaise with Commissioning Manager on all aspects of Commissioning and preparation of commissioning programme and handle the production of all O&M Manuals and demonstrate witness testing of each service when required.

Who are we looking for?
To succeed in this role you will have:
* Mechanical or Electrical Degree qualification or time served equivalent
* Previous experience working with a main contractor (preferred but not essential)
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
* Ability to work alone and unsupervised, and excellent organisation skills as you may be required to work with more than one site.
