We are searching for an experienced Production Planner to join an established food production company with a strong history as a leading supplier within the industry. The Production Planner position has been created as the company look to shape significant improvements within production that will support the customer demand and growth of the business.
This role will be key in driving efficiency across the end to end processes from customer orders through to production and goods out. You will also drive initiatives to maximise capacity and production volume.
A key objective will be to analyses existing production planning arrangements and to create an improved strategy and processes within. This is therefore a key role acting autonomously to drive the companys increase in production.
Production Planner Responsibilities:
Ensure weekly production plan is in-line with customer forecast and orders
Be vigilant that raw materials are kept at minimal levels vs. maintaining 100% availability for production
Understanding and monitoring of labour requirements to meet the plan and allocate the labour resource effectively in each department as appropriate
Ensure soft plan of up to 3 months is in-line with sales forecast
As Production Planner successfully liaise with the Purchasing team to ensure all raw materials are available for the manufacturing team and similarly keep up to date with the sales teams requirements.
Ensure all planned changes are communicated to the team and continuously look at ways to improve the demand Planning and production planning.
Production Planner Required Experience:
2-3 years established experience in production planning / demand planning
Ideally this will be within the FMCG / food industry or another fast-paced manufacturing environment with a lot of SKUs for instance
Excellent spreadsheet / computer skills
Highly numerate with an eye for detail and data accuracy
Excellent communication with multiple departments and managing deadlines.
An understanding of Lean Manufacturing would be an advantage
