Our client has been established for more than a quarter of a century and specialise in the planned preventative and reactive maintenance and repair of the complete range of special purpose waste processing machinery, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit a Workshop Engineer and in house fabricator and general yard duties person to act as a recycling operative when on site to complement their established and professional team and operate within the company head office manufacturing environment.

The successful Workshop Engineer candidate will be based at a single location in Tamworth and responsible for performing the planned repair and refurbishment of a range of waste processing machinery. Additionally, you will undertake the detailed preparation of machines, dismantling and rebuilding prior to painting and general rebuild and maintenance activities including fabrication (therefore Welding experience is essential), whilst adopting a flexible approach to also work on a reactive basis when breakdowns are received and where prompt turnaround times for customers are paramount.

Essentially you will demonstrate relevant electrical qualifications and previous demonstrable experience of working with control panels as well as within an electrical/hydraulic/mechanical environment necessary to work on waste machinery. Welding experience and an FLT licence will prove distinctly advantageous.

In order to be considered for this varied and challenging multi skilled Workshop Engineer position, you will demonstrate a flexible, self-motivated and pro-active approach with strong organisational and planning skills and the ability to integrate quickly as an effective team member. You will possess excellent customer facing communication skills at all levels and be both commercially aware and capable of operating with the minimum of guidance whilst ensuring the highest levels of professionalism and customer satisfaction are maintained at all times.
