An excellent opportunity for a conventional machinist to join a busy engineering workshop

Your new company

In you new role you will be operating and running a conventional centre Lathe in a busy Engineering workshop based in Frodsham. You will be manufacturing and repairing a variety of products.

Your new role

In your new role you will be operating and running centre Lathe machines in a busy workshop, ensuring production quality is at a high standard all through servicing. The products you will be repairing and conditioning include pumps, fans and gear boxes, which predominantly come from the chemical industry. You will be operating and running Colchester Lathes which are equipped with DRO(Digital Read Out). Utilisation of other machines will be a dependant on your skill set.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed in this position, you will have completed an apprenticeship and had extensive experience operating conventional Lathe machines.It would be a advantage if you can operate Bridgeport Milling machine or Churchill cylindrical grinding machine (Vertical and Horizontal boring machines). If you are ambitious enough you will have the opportunity to operate CNC lathes and CNC milling machines in house. You will also need to be willing to work overtime when required.

What you'll get in return

In return you will receive a competitive hourly rate of £12-£13, with the view to going permanent after a trial period. There is also a Work place pension is in place and you will be entitled to an active 24 Days holiday. The hours for the role are Monday - Thursday 8am/4.30pm and Friday 8am/3.30pm.
