Quantity Surveyor required for an expanding fast growing company in Cornwall

Salary £35k to £50k

South East Cornwall

As a qualified QS you will have worked within the residential arena. Autonomous in your working day.

Purpose of the role:

As well as the technical skill, we need a great team player, who fits in well within a family feel business. You will need to work closely with all of the team, be ready to hit the ground running and with a roll your sleeves up approach to work.
The work is varied (which may be on a construction site or office) and will also include site supplier and customer visits. Travel within a working day is likely and may involve overnight stays depending on the location.

Main Duties:

be proficient in providing take off from architects drawings and other consultants to prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities;
prepare and analyse costings for tenders, and award and manage contract performance within agreed commercial policy;
purchase of other materials and services where needed;
maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use;
liaise with other construction professionals, such as site managers, site engineers etc;

Qualifications:

previous experience preferably with a RICS degree or equivalent;
strong numeracy and financial management skills with a good working knowledge of MS excel and the ability to learn how to use specialist software: BMI and Pro Quant software experience would be advantageous;
the ability to write clear and precise reports and to present complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people.

* Full UK Driving Licence and the ability to work flexibly and travel.
