Temporary Support Worker required in Bath for a full time ongoing contract
Your new company
You will be working in a large organisation providing affordable housing to vulnerable individuals and families. You will be joining an organisation who focuses on making a difference to vulnerable service users' lives, providing engaging support to promote independence.
Your new role
As a support worker, you will be working with individuals and families living in the supported housing, providing the extra support they might need on the path to independent living. You will be working on a full time basis (37.5 hours) covering Bath and the surrounding area. You will be working with a range of vulnerable people with complex needs; this may include service users affected by mental heath, substance misuse, homelessness, domestic abuse and ex-offenders. As a support worker you will carry out support plans providing advice on housing, rent and ongoing issues that may arise. This role would fit perfectly for an experienced support worker who is looking to make a difference to service users lives.
What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful support worker, you will need to be a caring and positive role model. You will need to be confident in potential lone working with clients and be flexible in your work hours. Experience as a support worker would be essential for this role and the ability to be empathetic to the people you provide support for is important.
As a support worker you must have working knowledge in housing advice and support plans. As you will be working with vulnerable people, a DBS will be required, or the documents to create one on your behalf must be provided.
What you'll get in return
Not only will you be providing support to people who's lives will benefit the outcome, you will receive a competitive rate. In this role, there is also opportunity for extra hours through nights and weekends. In this support worker role you will be working a forward thinking, dynamic housing association and would be perfect if you are looking to make a difference to your local community and service users lives.
