Site Manager

Our client are a reputable building maintenance company looking for a Site Manager based in Havant.

The role will cover the Havant and Portsmouth area and will involve day to day control and delivery of maintenance projects to meet customer specifications.

Duties will be -

* Manage the day to day delivery of the project, including site management and daily diary management.
* Ensure that safe working practices and safety procedures are fully implemented and documented.
* Responsible for the safety and welfare of all direct labour and sub-contractors within their control under the strict observance of the company safety policy, liaising with the Health and Safety Manager as required.
* Maintain communication with the clients regarding CDM.
* Liaise with Operations Manager to ensure that they are fully aware of project progress and are notified of all financial, specification and time risks.
* Manage both direct labour and sub-contractors; recording hours worked on specific elements of the project.
* Provide direct instruction and support to all site operatives.
* Ensure that all project details are available to both sub-contractors and direct labour to reduce the risk of delays to progress
* Ensure all materials are ordered and delivered to site to meet production needs, avoiding delays in production.
* Inform Operations Manager and client of any expected delays or variations to the pre-contract programme.
* Undertake quality & HSE audits during the work.
* Instruct operatives/contractors to rectify snagging, defects and/or missed or uncompleted works.
* Ensure that all additional work is identified (variations) and that both the client and Operations Manager are aware, ensuring this is documented.
* Liaise directly with tenants to book appointments and ensure their nominal value is met where possible.
* Maintain detailed daily site diary at all times.
* Ensure all site records are both clear and auditable both during and after the project; this includes sub contract invoicing and materials.
* Manage material waste to the companies environmental policy.
* Assist responsive Maintenance Supervisors as required.

Essential Requirements -

* SMSTS qualification essential
* Iosh Managing Safely training desirable
* Awareness of CDM regulations and H&S training
* Excellent organisational and management skills
* Strong communication skills
* A practical use of Excel and outlook
* Knowledge of Microsoft Project Manager (or equivalent)
* Good numerical skills
* Previous site management experience
* Construction related technical knowledge
* Understanding of value for money and life cycle costs
* Commercial awareness
* Ability to find solutions to construction problems
* Able to work under pressure
* Able to forecast, plan, organise, motivate, control and coordinate

Hours of work - standard Office (8.00am - 5.00pm with 1 hour for lunch)
