Salary: £12,000 - £15,000

Working with special needs students is a rewarding career in which you guide, support and comfort students who may find everyday tasks challenging which why I am looking for a teaching assistant who has the compassion needed to preform this role.
A specialized school situated in the Crawley area is looking for a teaching assistant who can join their thriving school and make a difference to their students.
This specialised school is designed to meet the educational, behavioural, care and therapeutic needs for children (age 6-19 years). The students have a range of special needs including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).
Your responsibilities will include:
Assist students during class making sure they are on track.
Liaise with class teacher to ensure a smooth running class.
Enabling learners to access the curriculum.
Support the pastoral needs of the students.
Be an active part in setting the learning environment.
Supporting learners on a 1:1 base and part of a small group in a range of activities through out the day
Using your interests to engage students in learning.
The ideal candidate may posses the following skills and capabilities:
Be able to work with learners that have various learning difficulties.
Have an understanding of the students with emotional needs.
Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners.
Be confident to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects.
The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team.
Be flexible in their approach to education.
