THE COMPANY
Brewster Pratap are working with a Barnsley based business who due to growth are looking for a Transport Planner / Logistics Administrator to join their existing team on a temp to perm basis. My client is a global manufacturer who due to extensive research and technology advancements are leaders in their field. My client is located in Barnsley so would suit candidates commuting from Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster.
THE JOB
* Daily sales / purchase administration including inbound and outbound deliveries and transport
* Monitoring and logging customer requests and following up on the necessary paperwork to ensure customer and supplier information is received and logged in the systems
* Liaise with the drivers for deliveries to be carried out in a timely manner and ensure paperwork is returned to be logged.
* Monitor weekly and daily stock levels
* At month end co-ordinate with customers and suppliers the statements for deliveries in a timely manner in order to close month end as quickly as possible
* Organise the logistics of transport for loads to be moved between different sites
* Responsible for the inbound invoices which are received from suppliers and ensure they are correct and passed to accounts
* Liaise with the drivers about their working hours and communicate with accounts what hours need paying
* Ensure the drivers Vehicle Tracking information is downloaded on time and passed to the necessary transport department
* Communicate with the drivers to ensure the vehicles are maintained on a daily basis and any defects reported and logged
* To ensure necessary repairs made to the vehicles and suppliers are given the appropriate information to carry out the repairs
* Be responsible for monitoring the Fuel Supplier Card invoices and matching against the necessary purchase receipts from the drivers as they are brought in to site
* Communicating on a regular basis with the transport companies to monitor the rates which are being charged and be vigilant for any increases in prices
* Monitor and chase customers for payment of outstanding invoices
* Be able to help assist others in their roles and help with general office duties such as reception and telephone duties.
THE PERSON
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in logistics/administration
* Flexible
* Ability to work within a team and on own initiative
