An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Interior Yacht Designer to join an expanding, award winning design studio based in Lymington, initially on a one-year contract basis. In return, we offer a competitive salary based on the individuals experience plus 20 days holiday (excluding bank holidays), onsite parking and there are local amenities nearby.

The Senior Interior Yacht Designer will be responsible for developing interiors from concept to completion on new builds and re-fit projects.

Duties will include:

* Communicate ideas and concepts clearly to others involved in the design process including Designers, 3D Visualisers and FF&E Team.
* Responsible for managing the project at every stage, liaising with key suppliers, interior contractors and other consultants
* Represent MBD at project meetings and convey design ideas effectively; this will often be overseas.
* Produce design drawings on AutoCAD for shipyards and interior contractors to understand and implement. This includes bathroom, lighting and joinery packages.
* Knowledge and selection of hard finishes, sanitaryware, hardware and architectural lighting
* Comment and sign off contractual drawings and samples to ensure every detail is captured

The successful Senior Interior Yacht Designer will have:

* Extensive experience of yacht interiors and working in a marine design studio
* Advanced skills in AutoCAD, Photoshop an advantage
* In depth experience and knowledge of the various phases within high end projects
* A creative flair and passion
* A commitment to delivering an excellent service
* Excellent written and verbal communication in English language
* A good knowledge of furniture detailing and construction methods
* Ability to understand and analyse the needs for the project feasibility
* Strong creative thinking skills are essential in order to communicate your ideas efficiently
* Excellent presentation skills
* Self-motivation, strong focus, reliability and a good team spirit
* Ability to work well under pressure, prioritise and meet deadlines
* Willingness to travel overseas regularly if required
* Confidence in presenting to VIP clients and Owners representatives

The hours of work are 9am-6pm Monday to Friday.
