The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will be responsible for analysing component designs and creating programs for CNC manufacturing equipment using CAD and CAM systems, as well as involvement in, leading small engineering projects and supporting the implementation of standard operating procedures. Identifying risks, proposing solutions and timely delivery are vital in this role.

The role will focus on identifying risks, proposing solutions and ensuring timely delivery of services and projects as required.

Key responsibilities will be to:

* Create NC symbols for all component designs issued to implement engineering changes to products and to satisfy the special requirements of specific customer orders.
* Analyse daily MRP output, create NC programs of nested components, and issue work to shop floor in a timely manner to support production demands, whilst also ensuring optimal sheet utilization.
* Contribute to the overall manufacturing engineering team activities to support manufacturing operations, including resolving quality problems, assisting in CI activity, supporting implementation of standard operating procedures and running small improvement projects
* Assist with product design/development activities to ensure suitability for manufacture, including: design review, prototype production, defect identification and trouble-shooting, costing and capacity info.
* Strive for continuous improvement for the overall manufacturing engineering function; as well as ensure that relevant Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to.

The successful Manufacturing Engineering Technician will have:

* Experience in a Mechanical Engineering background, ideally with 2-3 years experience within a sheet metal manufacturing environment
* Excellent CAD skills
* 2-3 years NC Programming experience, using CAM system
* Experience of reading, interpreting and understanding technical drawings, terms and modern manufacturing methodologies
* Good IT literacy including Microsoft Office
* A logical thinking approach
* Flexibility
* Ability to be a fast learner

The hours of work are MondayThursday 07:30-16:30 and Friday 07:30-12:00.
