The post is to support a gentleman who has suffered a brain injury and has recently been diagnosed with Vascular Dementia. He is a wheelchair user and lives in the Alvechurch area within his family's homes.

**Summary of Duties**

> To carry out basic domestic duties in the home to include keeping his room clean and tidy and his bathroom, as well as respecting other areas of the family home.

> To provide personal care

>To support my father to partake in trips outside of the home, for example, to the local shop, out with family or friends, the gym, to medical appointments and physio appointments.

> To support with rehabilitation including physio homework set in sessions. This will either be at home or at the gym in Droitwich.

>To be able to identify any issues/risks that may affect my father

>To be proactive and communicate any ideas that could enhance my father's day to day living.

>To undertake any training I deem necessary or appropriate for the role

>To give medication, which inc. tablets and eye drops.

**The Person**

>Someone who is friendly, patient, supportive, understanding my father's frustrations at being in this position. Someone with the ability to motivate subtly. You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care and should possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role.

>Driver essential with clean driving licence (disability vehicle will be provided)

>An interest in rehabilitation and improving quality of life essential.

>My father requires transferring to and from his wheelchair so someone strong with moving and handling skills preferred.

>Non- smoker

**The Times**

> 12hr shifts (07.30 19.30 or 19.30 07.30) 36 hours per week.

Flexibility preferred to cover holidays and sickness

Actual hours are to be negotiated at interview stage

>The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)

Price / Salary: £9.55 per hour
